Hamilton Chiropractor Dr. Chad Esaiah

A friend told me I should see their chiropractor

Hmm, I was sceptical. Don’t people only need a chiropractor when they have back problems? My problem was in my shoulders and it was chronic. It had nothing to do with my back… or so I thought.

My friend persisted and I eventually made an appointment to get myself checked. You know what; I learned some very interesting things from the chiropractor that day. I learned that the spine houses and protects a very important organ called the spinal cord. Its job is to relay all the healing messages from the brain and transmit those throughout the body. My chiropractor checked me and then recommended x-rays be taken. He discovered some of the joints of my spine were out of alignment and were actually interfering with those healing messages. That’s why my shoulders weren’t getting better. My body definitely needed some help, so I made the decision to start care.

It wasn’t long before I was back at the gym, swimming and best of all, back at work

The changes were miraculous. I was so relieved and so very grateful, that I spoke to everyone who would listen. I told people how chiropractic had helped me, that it’s for more than just back aches, it’s for anyone wanting help in getting back to enjoying the things they love to do. Very soon, many of my family and friends got checked. Some of them needed help. And when they got fantastic changes too, I became an undying fan.

My excitement did not go unnoticed by my chiropractor, Dr Don Murray. One day he took me aside and suggested I become a chiropractor. “Who me…you’ve got to be joking”, I said. “You’d be a great chiropractor. You can do it”, he said. Well, here was someone who had more confidence in my ability than I had in myself at that time. The seed was planted. read more»

Twelve months later it was all on.

I enrolled in a degree programme at the University of Auckland studying inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, biology, statistics, psychology and physiology. I had also been accepted into the inaugural class of New Zealand’s first chiropractic college. This launched me on a course of philosophy, pathology, radiology, radiography, chiropractic technique, principles and practice, anatomy and more physiology. It was hard work but it was exciting and worth it. The course on chiropractic philosophy had such a profound effect on me that it changed the way I viewed my body and my health from then on. I learned that the body heals from “Above Down Inside Out” and that the “power that made the body heals the body”. It was a total paradigm shift. After graduating in 1999 I set up practice in Hamilton.

My Purpose in Practice

My purpose in practice is to educate, check and adjust as many families as possible toward optimal health through natural chiropractic care. I recognise the inherent ability of the body to heal itself, and for that to occur the body requires that it be free of interference. It is our mission to reduce that interference to the smallest degree so our patients can achieve their greatest potential. The most moving, soul-satisfying and humbling aspect of practice is the opportunity we get to witness miracles every week.

My two boys, C.J. and Jovahn, have received regular chiropractic adjustments since birth, have not been vaccinated and are healthy and active (if that sounds interesting, be sure to ask me to explain!). We enjoy living in Hamilton. Being central makes it easy for us to do many of our favourite things. We surf, go fishing, hiking, camping, trail bike riding, enjoy trips to the snow, soaking in hot pools and watching a good movie… all fun things that we just love to do.

My Personal Goal

My personal goal is to be active and full of life well into my nineties and enjoy my great grandchildren. I want to be able to do the things with them that I enjoyed doing with my own children. A lofty goal, but I believe its one that is totally achievable and absolutely worth while. That’s why my health habits begin with weekly chiropractic adjustments. I want to know that my spine and nervous system is healthy so my body will take better care of me. My health habits also include daily exercise, meditation, study, ample water intake including the juicing of fruit and vegetables. I don’t take prescribed drugs as I believe they only mask the cause of problems and introduce further toxic challenges that my body doesn’t need. True health is sustained by my consistently making wise choices that keep me on a path of wellness. Good health is our birthright. It is natural to expect to be healthy. But good health is more than the absence of disease. It is the presence of abundant physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
